Much needed updating....

IT'S BEEN A BUSY COUPLE OF MONTHS.
Lets see if I can remember everything that has happened, I'm sure I'll forget something...

We've had a few Birthdays. Jason turned 28 on May 5, Kenidee turned 3 on May 7 and Emma turned 6 on June 4. Grandpa Byers also celebrated a Birthday on June 4. On June 22 we added another birthday to our family, Harrison was born.

We've also had a few Graduations. Adam and Josh both had a Pre-school Graduation. Katie Graduated from UVU with a degree in Physcology in December but the actual Graduation Ceremony was in April. Steffanie Graduated from Nursing School on June 4 and Shadd graduated from ITT today, June 25. So some exciting things have been happening in our family. I'm so proud of everyone and their great accomplishments.

Jason and Katie celebrated their 1st Wedding Anniversary on May 1.

Mark and I went to Kansas City in April for Spring Break. We had a great time.

We had a lot of snow this year. This was on April 29, when we had all just about had enough. One thing about it in the spring it doesn't last very long.

It's Official....

For many years I have had a dream... Every time I would make the short drive to Orem... I always passed by a sign that said 'become a Graphic Arts Designer' (well may be it didn't say it quite that way, but you get the message). In my mind a seed was planted... and I eventually started saying; "When I grow up I am going to be a Graphics Art Designer". I guess I'm finally growing up. I am officially enrolled as a Student at the 'Art Institute of Pittsburgh on-line'. Can you believe it? Me a student, I haven't been in school for 30 years. I am so excited and very nervous. My 1st goal is to receive my Digital Design Certificate. My 2nd goal is to get a degree in Graphic Arts. My 3rd goal is to have fun while learning. My first class begins on Monday, April 4. To my amazement I passed the computer literacy test, so I'm going straight to classes. I guess I'm a little smarter than I thought I was. I'm starting with just one class so I can get the hang of it. This class goes for 5 1/2 weeks. If it goes well after a couple of classes I may start going full time, which is 2 classes a session. Either way I will have my design certificate by the fall of 2012 (so about 18 months). Well wish me luck, and I hope to show you what I am learning through my blog.

*just a little side note: maybe I would have benefited from being on Facebook with all of you. With my on-line campus they do alot of chatting and posting and because of my determination to avoid Facebook, I am a little illiterate in this field. I may have to breakdown and join Facebook so I can learn this way of living... lol

Where did March go???

I think March just passed me by. March was pretty un-eventful. But I did make some BIG decisions... LIFE is good.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow... the official 1st day of winter.

I've been dreaming of a snow storm like this for years...I love fresh fallen snow. This is a great curl up with a blanket and a good book day. Aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Mark might not agree since he has to work in it...well he probably spent more time at the office than in the snow.

This picture was taken at 4:45 this morning, there was 13" of snow on the table. Mark was out snow blowing at 4:30am, I'm sure the neighbors loved that, he was helping me out so I could get to work.

This was taken outside my work, my hand is almost touching the snow. Needless to say all school buses were canceled by 6:30am. School was canceled by 7:00am. We got to start our Christmas Vacation 1 day earlier. Only catch here, is that we'll have to make it up later. Driving was very interesting this morning. I got to come home early from work. I came home and shoveled snow, not too much, thanks to our nice neighbor and his tractor.
This picture was taken about 10:00am when I got home from work. This was over 18" of snow on the table. You can see the swing in the background (kinda).
This is the kind of snow storm I like, if it's going to snow then let it snow.

So much to be THANKFUL for...

In just a few days it will be Thanksgiving. I've been thinking of all the things I'm Thankful for. Lets see how many I can list in the next 10 minutes... I am Thankful for, A great Dad & Mom, a terrific husband, 8 great kids (this includes my children's spouses), 5 grandchildren (almost six). I'm thankful for 28 years of marriage, the good times and the rough times, that Jason and the boys have been able to move past the tragedy in their life to find Katie (she's a great girl), that Steffanie will graduate from nursing school this June, that Shadd will also graduate from school, that Ashlee and Ben are going to have a baby, that Emilee stays around to keep us company. I'm Thankful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'm thankful for good friends at work, that's why I stay at my job. I love life even when it's crazy. I'm thankful for my crafts, free time, being lazy, reading, watching the grandkids, playing games with the grandkids, playing games with anyone, talking to Ashlee everyday as she drives home from work, lounging around in my pj's, christmas lights, the holidays, Emilee even when she makes fun of my hair, watching the girl's so Steff can sleep after working Friday night, quiet, and even Mark when he can't stand the silence, SNOW (except its a little cold), seeing everyone happy, food, Coke (I do like a cold Coke), airplanes (takes just a couple of hours to go see Ashlee and Ben), Family.... These are a few things I'm thankful for, I could go on forever...but you get the idea. Life is great and I have everything to be grateful for. I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

My great investment...in more ways than one!

I bought this great picture about 6 weeks ago, I've been meaning to blog about it and just haven't done it... anyway I have been looking for this picture for a while in a smaller size of course, and without a frame, because it is a little pricey. Anyway they have a booth at the quilted bear that sales these pictures so every time I go in there I look to see if they have it, they have the square version but not the wide version like this one. So the end of September, Amy and I went to Deseret Book after the General Relief Society Meeting and we were just wandering around looking at quotes when I came across 4 of these pictures of different temples and they were in the clearance section, the front one was a different temple and I thought I'd just take a look to see what other ones were they had. Guess what they had this one of the Provo Temple, the exact one I had been looking for but in a much larger size. It was regularly $440 and marked down to $300. It had a 75% off sticker. I figured that was off the original price, but it was off the $300. I ended up paying $84 for this picture. I think the $84 was less than the smaller size I was looking at framed. What a steal, and I found a nice home for it. I did a little rearranging just for this picture. Doesn't it look great. This is the Temple Mark and I were Sealed in 28 years ago. We have been truly blessed by being sealed in the Temple, and having our Family sealed to us for Eternity.
